Abstract

The present project aims to study electric field enhancement and thermal response of gold metal nanoparticles at the localized surface plasmon resonance. The solutions and polymer composites will be prepared and characterized by spectroscopy and microscopy as a function of solution and temperature as well as material preparation conditions. We will also perform steady-state and time-resolved studies to characterize energy transfer mechanisms underlying the thermal and optical response of the prepared systems.
