Abstract

Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is one of the frequent in the feline species, being more prevalent in the elderly animals. CKD progressive and is classified in 4 stages according to the with the advancement of the disease. The treatments to date are palliative, aiming at a better quality of life for the animals. It should be noted that the interaction of these animals with people has been growing and the increases each year in the country by interfering with the economic sector, this study the understanding and mechanisms involved in Stage 4 DRC and has to evaluate and quantify the corticomedullary layers and to observethe glomeruli present are functional or functional. This will be analysis of the biometric parameters (weight, width, length, thickness and volume) of the DRC stage 4 kidneys combined with the techniquefor the quantification of renal corpuscles and the volume of cortical and medullary layers.
