Abstract

The aim of this in vitro study is to evaluate the physico-mechanical properties of a microhybrid dental composite (Filtek Z250 XT - 3M ESPE) covered by a wetting agent (Modeling Resin - Bisco), submitted to cycles of brushing and staining with red wine. Eighty cylinder-shaped samples (n = 20) will be prepared. Samples will be divided into 4 experimental groups, according to application of wetting agent and performance of brushing cycles. A single composite increment will be placed into a polytetrafluoroethylene cylindrical matrix of 2 mm high. The wetting agent will be applied over the composite and will be light-cured for 20 seconds. The samples will be submitted to evaluation of brightness, color stability, roughness and surface microhardness in two times: 24 hours after sample preparation and after cycles of brushing and immersion in red wine. Data will be submitted to two-way statistical analysis ANOVA and Tukey test.
