Abstract

This project shall examine the interaction between patient and medical practitioner through the point of view of both parts. More precisely, interviews focusing at the comprehension of which linguistic or discourse factors are prone to cause communication challenges will be held with SUS doctors and patients as an attempt to find the means responsible to turn less productive a medical consultation, as well as all the subsequent health processes. Given the framework, this problem will be analyzed through the French scope of semiotics while establishing a connection with the Discourse Analysis toward a better comprehension of the discourses and social roles that come into play at the doctor-patient relation and, ultimately, promoting more opinions to arise over this theme, but also contributing for an increasingly humanized Health.
