Abstract

A M. A. Sc. fellowship aiming new experimental and computational techniques in the field of Coherent Optical Communications is requested. Those technologies comprise the characterization and modeling of photonic devices, as well as the fast-optical carrier distortion effects induced by them. Among such effects, jitter and spectral line widths analyses of continuous wave electromagnetic emissions are contemplated. A real time scope ultrafast acquisition of coherent detected optical carrier information, and the offline numerical algorithms are the kernel of our process. During previous works, three full papers were published (with Impact Factor greater than 3.5), eight articles presented at scientific conferences, and four pending patents licensed to the Brazilian industry Padtec.
