Abstract

The discovery of a new state of matter, the Quark Gluon Plasma, was announced in 2005. Now the challenge for the experimentalists is to create it in other regimes of temperature and baryonic potential, that is, to explore the QCD phase diagram and unravel its hypothesized critical point. For the theoreticians, the difficulty is to study how this critical point can manifest itself in the observables. I believe a possible tool for this is a Principal Component Analysis (PCA) of two-particle correlations such as the one proposed by Ollitrault et al. in 2015. The objective of this research plan is to finish a work on PCA data recently obtained at high energy (away from the critical point) as a training for lower energies where the critical point is expected.
