This is project intended for an undergraduate student to gain experience and access to current research techniques, methodology and topics in High Energy Physics. This is a project to continue work that has started in 2013, when the student has joined the Experimental Hadronic Group of the State University of Campinas. The focus of the proposed research work is in the study of Particle Jets produced in high energy proton-proton collsions, though the characterization analyzing simulated data from Monte Carlo PHYTIA event generator. Understanding and characterizing Jet geometry in proton-proton collisions is an important step to reconstruct particle Jets in Heavy Ion Collisions such as measured by the ALICE experiment at LHC. In addition to data analysis activities, it is expected that the student will study several scientific papers related to the subject and present seminars in the weekly meeting of the Hadrex (Experimental Hadron) group of the Cosmic Ray Department at the Physics Institute of UNICAMP. With this, the main goal is to complement the students undergraduate program and start the preparation and studies for a graduate program within this field. (AU)
