Abstract

The anaerobic digestion is used in the management of bovine manure in an attempt to reduce the impacts generated, because although it generates costs and environmental problems to its disposal, manure retain part of the energy contained in the material organic, making feasible the environmental and economically sustainable use of these materials in the bioenergy production. However, the characterization of microorganisms anaerobic or facultative obligatory anaerobic prokaryotes that perform the process of degradation of organic matter is not much explored in literature. Although studies present some of the genres found in each stage of the process, there is not enough information about the relationship between the concentration of these bacterial genus with the potential of biogas production. But this knowledge is essential to find ways to optimize the biogas production process, knowing the factors that influence the performance of the bacteria involved in the process of degradation, can improve the bacterial activity, thereby increasing the production of methane. In this project we intend to advance these studies of prokaryotes organisms present in the process, making your identification by biochemical and molecular methods. We hope to contribute to the understanding of the process of biogas production and improve the process of production of bioenergy through the Bioprocess Engineering and biotechnology.
