Abstract

This scientific initiation aims to understand the spatio-temporal dynamics of the crime registration in the city of São Paulo, Brazil. In order to do this, it will be necessary to understand the quality of the Registry Digital de Occurrences (R.D.O.) (digital record of occurrences) of the Public Safety Department of the state of São Paulo. This understanding will also contribute to the construction of a working model by which to further investigate the quality of the criminal records in different territorial units - such as census sectors, police districts or Key-Areas. In addition, for the best dissemination of knowledge and information, what is being proposed is the production of an atlas, which is related to the approach of the project with the geographic science and one of its tools of information visualization: cartography.
