Abstract

Processa hemphilli Manning & Chace, 1971 (Caridea: Processidae) inhabits the West coast of Atlantic ocean, since North Carolina, United States of America, to Buenos Aires, Argentina. They are nocturne shrimps, relatively small, reaching up to 14mm of total body body length, which, consequently, make them a specie of no commercial interest and difficult their collection, therefore, studies about their biology are scarce. The main objective of the present study will be to investigate certain aspects of the species populacional dynamics in Ubatuba Bay, SP, Brazil, like morphological sexual maturity by means of relative growth, fecundity and seasonal reproductive investment in order to analyze the time of greatest reproductive intensity and to determine the size of the eggs and the sex ratio in each season of the year. For that, there were seasonally collected between the winter of 2018 and the fall of 2019 in the bay of Ubatuba, at dusk, with a shrimp fishing boat through a mini "otter-trawl" type net. During the sampling period, abiotic factors such as temperature and salinity of the water and organic matter content of the sediment were and will be collected. Shrimp will be identified in terms of species, measured, weighed and separated by sex. Based on the data obtained, relevant statistical analyzes will be carried out for each proposed objective. (AU)
