Abstract Introduction: the hip structural analysis (HSA) is a specific technique developed by the DXA software used for to analyze the structural geometry and strength of proximal femur and your relationship with the risk of development in osteoporosis in old age and the influence of adolescence period. However, until now the literature is limited only to the knowledge of the impact of sports with or without mechanical impact on variables of strength and bone geometry. Objective: To analyze the bone geometry/strength, as well as, analyze longitudinal (12 months) effect of six different sports modalities on geometry and bone strength of adolescents, relationship with bone markers (osteocalcin and C-Terminal telopeptide [CTx]), growth hormones (GH) and metabolic markers (high density lipoprotein [HDL], low density lipoprotein [LDL] and C-reactive protein [CRP], calcium and vitamin D, glucose). Besides the consequence of the risk of developing osteoporosis. | |
