Abstract

In Brazil, approximately 375 species of snakes are cataloged, of which about 60 are venomous. The major venomous snakes involved in the vast majority of snakebites belong to the genres Crotalus and Bothrops. Located in the Center-West of São Paulo, the Hospital of The College of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Sciences- UNESP, Botucatu attends animals from different domestic species, mainly from the cities of Botucatu and other regions of the State of São Paulo. The objective of this project will be to carry out the quantitative and qualitative analysis of the ophidian accident cases in canine and equine patients attended at Veterinary Hospital from 2000 to 2018.
