Abstract Quantum theory, contrary to other physical theories, is defined by means of mathematical postulates, and not by means of physical axioms. It is of fundamental importance to investigate what would, then, be pertinent physical axioms, capable of highlighting, in an operational way, quantum theory from other theories that, like quantum, are fundamentally probabilistic. Within the formalism of quantum non locality, an operational formalism that is adequate to formulating this question, the information causality principle has appeared as a strong candidate to solve it. In practice, however, it has been noticed that formulations and criteria proposed for the principle were weaker than previously thought. This research plan refers to a deeper investigation of the information causality principle by means of the development of novel entropic criteria. (AU) | |
