Abstract

Faced with the need to reconceptualize the school mathematical curriculum and generate greater meanings in classrooms, a didactic approach based on the principles of ethnomathematics makes it possible to recognize and present the different mathematical knowledge in students' daily lives in motivational didactic situations. In this perspective, a research will be developed which aims to contribute with alternative methodological proposals for the teaching and learning process of mathematics in Basic Education by the methodology of problem solving contextualized to the sociocultural reality of the students in a effort to connect formal mathematics and school community.
