Abstract

The ox is a non-invasive method of monitoring the blood saturation, able to detect early the hypoxia in various contexts, in addition to monitoring the circulation and perfusion. Its clinical importance is given in procedures that require ongoing monitoring of the patient during your implementation, not part of the routine dental surgeon. Thus, through patient monitoring with pulse oximetry during the execution of ambulatory oral surgery under local anesthesia, it will be possible to monitor changes in blood oxygenation, heart frequency and associate with the co-morbidities and medicines used by the patient, with the type of procedure performed and with emotional changes such as fear and anxiety, very common in everyday life. The evaluations through the pulse ox will be held in single-step, from beginning to termination of service, the concomitant blood pressure measurement. Emotional changes will be evaluated through the psychometric test "scale of depression, anxiety and stress (DASS-21)", which aims to measure and evaluate emotional negative symptoms such as stress, anxiety and depression, before the procedure surgical. The collected data will be tabulated and evaluated through statistical analysis bivariate and Multivariate regression.
