Abstract

The present scientific initiation project aims to centrally analyze the formation and performance of the international police security organization Interpol with Brazil, in the light of the concepts of transgovernmental relations and transnational relations of Robert Keohane and Joseph Nye Jr., analyzing: (1) under the first concept, the Brazilian Federal Police action with other federal police through Interpol; and (2) under the second concept, relations between Brazil and other nations through Interpol. To do so, we will analyze the history of Interpol in Brazil, the treaties signed between the Brazilian Federal Police and Interpol, the treaties signed between Brazil and Interpol, the various activities between the Brazilian Federal Police and Interpol (available both on the Police website Federal Interpol), the various activities between Brazil and Interpol (made available on the Interpol website), as well as direct interviews with Brazilian federal police officers assigned to work at Interpol (with headquarters in Brasília, DF). This project is justified by the fact that Interpol is an example of how important an international organization's role is in balancing order on the global stage and an effective way of making the world a safer place for all people, is the largest international criminal organization in the world, with 192 member States.
