Abstract

The increased incidence of ultraviolet rays promoted the use of sunscreens to protect the skin. Studies point to the preventive potential of this cosmetic under the incidence of skin diseases. However, components of the sunscreens have high absorptive capacity, due to their molecular composition, and the adverse effects that such components could cause in the body are investigated. The objective of this work is to evaluate the impact of the emulsifying and emollient components contained in formulations of sunscreens, in order to correlate with their absorptive capacity and to protect against ultraviolet rays. The study will be carried out from the exposition of formulations previously prepared predominantly in emulsifiers and emollients, to the in vitro method of Diffusion Cells by Franz method. The aliquots removed by this method will be referred to the HPLC for identification of the components. Other analyzes include the determination of SPF and the stability test. The results obtained will provide a basis for determining the relationship of the components of the sunscreens, taking into account their molecular characteristics, their absorptive capacity, and whether this molecular condition characterizes the protective potential against ultraviolet rays.
