Abstract

This project aims to do the critical edition and historical study of the trajectory of the Notícias Práticas das minas de Cuiabá na capitania de São Paulo, a set of eight manuscript reports collected between monçoeiros, sertanists and the Iberian crowns' officials by the Jesuit Diogo Soares between the decades of 1730 and 1740, in order to restore them in their most genuine possible form and to understand the reasons for which they were produced, circulated and edited, as well as to understand the transformations that they suffered during their displacements in space and time.
