Abstract

The use of diazotrophs bacteria and of co-inoculation have been two of the practices that have been carried out in several cultures with the objective to check the effects in growth and productivity. Research reports have shown that these bacteria stimulate the production of hormones that provided better development to the plants, increased root growth, resistance to nematodes and to some soil pathogens. This work aims to study the effects of co-inoculation of Azospirillum brasilense and Rhizobium in the IAC Sintonia bean on direct seeding of millet and Crotalaria juncea. The experiment will be conducted in the experimental area of the Teaching, Research and Extension Farm of the Faculty of Engineering/UNESP - Ilha Solteira Campus. It will be used a solution of Azospirillum brasilense in five different concentrations (zero; ½ of commercial recommended; commercial recommended; 1.1/2 of commercial recommended and 2 times the commercial recommended), with all seeds being treated with bean-specific Rhizobium. The application of the Azospirillum will be realized immediately after the bean sowing with the aid of a costal sprayer, in the amount of 200 L/ha on the bean sowing line. The experimental design used will be in randomized blocking, with 5 treatments, 3 ground coverings (millet, crotalaria, and millet + crotalaria) and 4 blocks. It will be assessed: plant dry matter, nutrients content, plant height, number of pods per plant, number of seeds per pod, seed productivity, the mass of a hundred seeds and physiological quality of seeds, comprising the germination test, the accelerated-aging test and seeding emergence.
