Abstract

Considering the several challenges for the functionalization of C-H bonds which are almost nonreactive and present adversities in selectivity with electrophilic reagents, the present Research Project proposes an alternative to this process using first-period transition metals for metal catalysis as a way of activating C-H bonds in aliphatic carbons present in molecules with aromatic rings. The first step is the design of ligands associated with metals such as iron and manganese, which will be evaluated on generality, selectivity and reactivity for the oxidation of C(sp3)-H bonds. Finally, ligands will be applied in total syntheses as a way to generate products of interest to large areas of chemistry and biology.
