Abstract

In view of the dialectical relations between homogeneity, due to the relative democratization of consumption and the renewal and expansion of the strategies of distinction, and the recurrent accusations that consumption has become predominant also in public spaces, space practices make it possible to identify disputes, symbolic, on these spaces. Our hypothesis is that such disputes give a political dimension to public spaces, which is evident when we compare those present in the "private spaces of access and collective use", which are increasingly valued in the context of the process of social and spatial fragmentation, as we propose demonstrate from this research project, based on a specific methodology.
