Youth territories: routes and trails built by girls from the periphery

Abstract

Based on questions and reflections arising from the results presented in the Scientific Initiation (CI) "Girls, body and belonging: being adolescent on the periphery" (DIAS, FERIGATO, SILVA, 2018), this project aims to identify the territories and spaces frequented by the young girls living in a suburb of the city of São Carlos, SP, who participated in the first HF survey, and the possible influences of gender issues in the occupation (or non-occupation) of such geographical and subjective territories. Methodologically, we will begin the elaboration of a territorial map with a group of female students from a state school located in the same territory, aged between 13 and 18 years and concomitantly, we will apply a semi-structured interview elaborated by the researchers with the purpose of producing data quanti-qualitative. It is also sought to cross-reference such instruments for the territorial map and the results listed by individual body maps developed in the previous research, in order to broaden and deepen their results and discussions. We hope to understand the multiple faces of being a young woman in the periphery, crossing results mapped in the singular bodies and in their common territorial plan of occupation.
