Abstract

This project we will explore catalysts based on colloidal Au alloys (AuPd, AuCu, particles sizes <5 nm in aqueous medium). The colloid will be used directly as a catalyst or deposited in nanostructured oxides to obtain supported catalysts. The catalysts will be tested in the oxidation reaction of methane targeting methanol production in the presence of H2O2 in a batch reactor. The main steps of the project are: synthesis of the AuPd and AuCu colloids and the supported catalysts, characterization of the materials, product analysis and the study of reaction parameters such as pressure and time.
