Abstract

The aim of this research is to investigate the construction of dramaturgy (in dance and the performer's) during the creative process, in order to evaluate how to apply these thoughts in the pedagogical training of contemporary dancers. Through the methodology "practice-led research" this project proposes a theoretical-practical study of the Chorological Studies theory by Valerie Preston-Dunlop, developed from Rudolf Laban's Chorology. It includes, therefore, studying the theoretical bibliography and developing practical laboratories at the same time. Based on this knowledge, the student will create three solo contemporary performances, each one conceived within three months. Then, these solos will be gathered in a unique final work to be presented at Unicamp's Department of Performing Arts. Finally, it will be discussed how this practice contributes to increase the expressive capacity of the researcher while a Dance undergraduate student and the applications of this methodology when training contemporary dancers.
