Abstract

The objective of this study is to characterize, using the texture analysis (TA), the alveolar bone of anterior regions of the maxila, in cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) images, correlating the results related to the success of dental implants (insertion torque, absence of mobility and stability of the alveolar bone crest), verifying if the bone texture analysis (TA) is a predictive tool in the success of the implants. 60 implants in the anterior maxillary edentulous region will be selected of the previously performed from a year and whose insertion torque values were duly recorded. In the pre-implant CBCT exams, the OnDemand3D software will select 03 transverse sections of the regions corresponding to the insertion of the same and contour 02 (ROIs), corresponding to the region of implant bone and peri-implant bone, according to the virtual planning performed. The sections will be exported to the software MaZda 3.20, where, in each cut, ROIs corresponding to the implant and peri-implant bone will be delineated, following the previously marked and calculated contours, for the TA, values related to the Co-occurrence matrix (COM). These will be correlated with the values of the insertion torques, the absence of mobility and stability of the alveolar ridge crest (in postoperative radiographs and after 6 months). The calibration of the examiner will be performed by ICC. The data will be submitted to the Shapiro-Wilks test for normality evaluation. Subsequently, the T test will be used to study between the values derived from TA and insertion torque/clinical success of the implants or by the Mann-Whitney Rank Sun test, if the distribution is not normal.
