Abstract

The objective of this study is to evaluate inter and intra-rater reliability of bi digital vaginal palpation with PERFECT scheme. About 40 women will be evaluated, aged between 18 and 35 years. The volunteers will answer an anamnesis and will be submitted to evaluation of vaginal palpation according to the PERFECT protocol. Two evaluators, with ten minutes interval between evaluations, will evaluate each woman at the first meeting. One of the evaluators will carry out the same evaluation in the volunteer one week after the first evaluation. The volunteers will be placed in dorsal decubitus, with hip and knee flexion. After inspection, the evaluator will introduce two fingers until the second phalange in the vaginal canal of the volunteer to perform the vaginal palpation, then the muscle contraction will be evaluated. The data will be analyzed in a descriptive way and by kappa coefficient test, standard error of the measurement a smallest real difference. A significance level of 5% will be adopted.
