Abstract

The objective of this work is to develop studies about the effect of the ozone on wastewater produced in textile dyeing processes. Effectively, we aim to investigate about the reuse of water under improved physic-chemical conditions of the dyeing process such as color removal, pH control and decontamination. Ozone application technologies developed at ITA will be used for the treatment of wastewater from the Golden company contamined with a dye type, evaluating the effects of process time, concentration and flow of ozone. The production gases, mainly CO and CO2, will be monitored by means of mass spectrometry and gas analyzer. The carbon concentration in the treated water and other elements will be evaluated by infrared absorption spectroscopy. The results will be evaluated based on the water reuse and disposal regulations.
