Abstract

The present study proposes the analysis of affective experiences related to human interaction between urban furniture and its users, considering the complexities of the projective process in contemporary design. The objective of this research is to generate guidelines for urban furniture projects - with emphasis on those designed for rest and leisure - through the systematization of immaterial values experienced by the users during human-object interaction. This research is based upon deductive thinking, with an experimental character of action, which methodology is structured around data collection by sampling, aiming the comparative analysis of urban furniture in public parks of medium-sized cities in São Paulo State. Such studies are based on the premise that affective experiences of use are shaped by the values of users in light of the characteristics of artifacts. As a final result, the research proposes to establish innovative guidelines to support the development of urban furniture structured from intangible and immaterial attributes of industrial production products.
