Abstract

Ejectors are simple and low-maintenance devices that use the kinetic energy of a motive fluid to suck another fluid, called the secondary. The basic principle of the ejector operation consists of fluid jets (liquid or gas) being pumped by a nozzle at high speed, which incorporate and accelerate surrounding liquid, gas or solid matter. Ejectors have several applications. For instance, they are used in processes such as CCS (Carbon Capture and Storage), which has been a valid solution in reducing the concentration of CO2 in the atmosphere. This work intends to develop a methodology for the parametric optimization of ejectors, aiming to obtain a high efficiency and performance device, while also evaluating the sensitivity of the optimal geometry found by changing the operational conditions.
