Abstract

Introduction: The assessment of food consumption has its importance already established in the literature, however, the existing methods are subject to variations and measurement errors. One of the main and most recurrent errors in food surveys is the report of energy intake below the minimum amounts necessary to maintain body weight, that is, the underreporting of energy intake. Objective: The objective of the study is to compare the estimates for identifying sub-rapporteurs of the energy intake of different dietary methods using predictive equations. Methodology: This is a study developed with participants selected in the third wave of the Longitudinal Study of Adult Health - ELSA-Brazil at the University Hospital of the University of São Paulo. 24-hour Food Recalls (R24h), Food Frequency Questionnaires (FFQ), 24-hour urine samples and a general characterization questionnaire will be collected from 101 participants of both sexes previously selected. For the detection of underreporting individuals, we will use the predictive equations indicated by the literature. Keywords: food consumption; food surveys; underreporting; energy intake.
