Abstract The use of psychological tests is adopted in different contexts, contributing to the professional practice of the psychologist. An instrument widely used for the assessment of cognitive abilities is the Battery of Reasoning Test (BPR-5). Represented in paper-and-pencil format, the test consists in five tests that require different reasoning tasks and contemplates students with levels of education from the 7th to the 9th year of elementary school to the 1st to the 3rd year of high school. Scientific review studies indicate its applicability in different areas of psychology, such as in the school context, organizational, clinical and process of vocational guidance. Although the use of pencil-and-paper tests prevails in contexts of psychological assessment, the technological advance made possible the development of Computerized Adaptive Testing (CAT). The use of CATs is already adopted at an international level in an expressive way, but they are still recent in Brazil. Thus, this study aims to find evidences of convergent validity for the Battery of Reasoning Test - electronic (BPRe), an instrument from the BPR-5, which evaluates cognitive abilities in an adaptive computerized version.
