Abstract

The project aims to analyze the artistic trajectory and production of Helios Seelinger (1878-1965), a carioca painter, from 1892, the beginning of his formation at the National School of Fine Arts, until 1965, the year of his death. Seelinger had a unique production for Brazilian art. Given the intense sociability of the artist in different literary, artistic and journalistic circuits, his lifelong relationships are taken as an axis to analyze his formation; the production and circulation of his works; its position and reputation in the artistic field of the time, and its insertion in the narratives of the History of Art. This work is expected to contribute to the discipline from the artist's career, understanding the vicissitudes of his work and its importance in the national scene. (AU)
