Abstract

Photovoltaic technology has been a promising alternative for clean and renewable energy generation. Perovskite Solar Cell (PSC) is a highlight in the emerging technologies since they have low-cost manufacturing, in relation to silicon-based technology, and high-efficiency values (outperforming polycrystalline silicon). This has made it a highly competitive and promising technology. However, instability of PSC is a limiting factor for its commercial application. A way for overcoming this issue consists in the use of low dimensional perovskite (LDP) at the interfaces of the device, which the main target is the increase of energy formation and the hydrophobic character of perovskites, make them more resistant to humidity and oxygen degradation. In this perspective, the proposal of this Master Project is the synthesis and characterization of new hole transfer materials (HTM) whose structures allow, in addition to the transport of holes, the generation of LDP structures at the interface with the perovskite. In this approach, it will be presented alternatives for substitute the Spiro-OMeTAD (an expensive, unstable material widely used as a PSC hole transporting layer), and it will be possible to expect an increase in the stability caused by the formation of the LPD hydrophobic layer at the interface with the perovskite film.
