Abstract

The literature has pointed to the risks of work stressors to the mental health of these workers in different types of institutions where these professionals carry out their work activities. One of the work contexts where the work activities are carried out is the emergency and urgency public services, a place considered to be overloaded due to overcrowding, the accelerated pace of work, together with the precarious physical, human and material resources. Objective: To evaluate the presence of anxiety and depression among nursing professionals working in an Urgency Care Unit, located in a municipality in the interior of the State of São Paulo. Method: This is a cross-sectional, quantitative approach with professionals from the nursing team of an Urgency Care Unit of a Municipality located in the State of São Paulo/Brazil. Data collection will be performed through the application of a semi-structured sociodemographic form and the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS). Final Considerations: The application of HADS among UPA nursing workers could be an important screening tool to identify issues of concern to the general health of these professionals, especially the indicators of anxiety and depression.
