Abstract

This project proposes the carrying out of a six-month research internship abroad (from October 25, 2019 to April 20, 2020) at University of St. Andrews's Department of Social Anthropology, Scotland, under professor Mark Harris's supervision. The main objective is to improve the ongoing Doctorate research about the quilombola movement and struggle in the north of Minas Gerais through access to recent international debates in political anthropology, contact with foreign supervisor, participation in scientific activities and events, and dialogue with other researchers. During the period abroad, I intend to carry out a bibliographic survey focused on anthropological productions that allow me to methodologically advance in the analysis and systematization of the ethnographic data collected in the fieldwork undertaken from 2016 to 2018 with quilombola leaderships and in the discussions evoked by this material, especially around the issues of mobility, learning and knowledge, as well as the methodological challenges faced in this particular ethnographic context. The research internship abroad also aims contribute to the internationalization of my academic networks and the research groups I am engaged to.
