Abstract

Adolescence corresponds to the period between 10 and 19 years, in which the transition from childhood to adulthood occurs and is associated with risky behaviors, greater chances of contracting sexually transmitted infections and occurrence of unplanned pregnancies. The present project was designed to attend the initial stage of research training of undergraduate students in nursing. The objective of this study is to investigate the prevalence of early sexual life in adolescents and its association with demographic, family, psychosocial and lifestyle factors. This is a cross-sectional, exploratory, descriptive and quantitative study that will be carried out in a public school in the city of Ribeirão Preto, São Paulo. The adolescents will be included in the research through the signatures of the Term of Free and Informed Consent by the responsible ones and Term of Free and Clarified Assent by the adolescent. At the time of the recruitment of the participants will be emphasized the ethical aspects and the possibility of withdrawal at any time. The data will be collected through a semi-structured and self-administered questionnaire, through which social, demographic and economic data, family relationships, sexual history and safe sex practice will be obtained. The data will be submitted to statistical analysis by means of the Ç2 test and Fisher's test bicaudado in double entry contingency tables. The value of p <0.05 will be used as criterion for rejection of null hypotheses.
