Abstract

The growing neoliberal onslaught from the 1980s onwards has led to an intense productive restructuring in the world of work. Specifically the banking category suffered with several waves of technological innovations that led to a reordering of services in several countries. As part of this, unions have weakened and workers are increasingly suffering from a process of illness due to the degradation of the work environment. Given this global context, the present project intends to investigate the health paradigms understood by Brazilian unions, how they are facing the cases of illness and how health is being promoted in the working environment of the banking sector, considering these issues in the municipality of Presidente Prudente.
