Abstract

Presently, the pesticides are the rule to control of pests on agriculture and livestock, but they also affect pollinators insects as they come in contact with the plant to pollinate it, and one of the important pollinators to mention are bees. They are also very important to human because of the production of propolis, honey and wax. The wax have lipids compounds with low polarity, which facilitates interaction with pesticides. These biocides, mostly they are harmful even to humans and non-target animals, and it is therefore very important to analyze if this substances are present in large quantities in the environment. One of the most outstanding pesticides used in national territory is 2,4-D mainly because it is an organochlorine. Through the wax collected in Apis mellifera and Tetragonisca angustula hives present in urban and rural areas of the São José do Rio Preto region, we intend to quantify, based on data obtained by QuEChERS tecnique (Quick, Easy, Cheap, Effective, Ruggedand Safe), the 2,4-D pesticide, and we will compare the presence or absence of these compounds with respect to urban and rural areas.
