Abstract

The newest generation of neutrino physics experiments has been based on a technology that uses immersed time projection camerasin liquid argon (LArTPC), which provide the reconstruction of events on the mm scale, never reached before. Such technology is fundamental to solve the main problems in neutrino physics such astheta_23 octant confirmation, mass hierarchy, and violation phaseof symmetry CP. A joint effort between Fermilab and CERN to testand understanding the technology resulted in the ProtoDUNE experiment. One of the challenges that need to be developed and the best reconstruction of events that involve Michel's electrons, which is not only fundamental for future analysis of neutrinos, but also for observation and reconstruction in the energy range compatible with supernova neutrinos. The purpose of the position involves a postdoctoral who can develop and improve reconstruction methods of this kind of event. Emphasis will be given to the study of the signals generated by the photon detection system. In ProtoDUNE we have two light collectors based on ARAPUCA technology, chosen as the solution for the Far DUNE Detector. Thus, to extend the understanding of the performance of ARAPUCAs at representative and relevant LArTPCs events and a mandatory task in this phase of construction of the experiment. (AU)
