Abstract

Multiple Input and Multiple Output (MIMO) communication systems are systems consisting of structures that use multiple antennas on both the transmitter and the receiver. Since they are transmitted via antennas, noise and multipath problems naturally arise, becoming a challenge for the development of MIMO communication systems. For these reasons, many studies focus on certain properties of the signals sent in order to minimize the effects on information during transmission. There are several types of space-time block code designs for two transmitting antennas. We will address in this proposal the design of diagonal space-time block codes and quadratic space-time block codes. The performance of a space-time block code depends on two parameters: maximum diversity and minimum determinant (or coding gain).We consider here lattice codes with maximum diversity and the purpose of this project will be to maximize the minimum determinant.
