Abstract

There are currently 4.4 billion Internet users worldwide, and overuse of the Internet can cause both physical and emotional damage. Although internet addiction is not included in the DSM-V appendices, there are several studies positively correlating it with increased symptoms of depression, anxiety, aggression, social isolation, parental conflict and a lower level of social ability. Therefore, intervention is essential to support these users. It is hoped that this study may provide scientific support to help professionals interested in this area, revealing the main treatment methods. Objectives: To perform a systematic review on the central psychosocial interventions in adolescents who use the Internet, based on a review. Of literature. Method: The review will be recorded in PROSPERO. The research question strategy will be developed from the PICO model. The search will be performed on the following databases: MEDLINE, PSYCNET, LILACS, PUBMED, EMBASE, CINAHL, AND SCIELO. Articles will be considered in Portuguese, English, and Spanish. For the analysis of the articles, Rayyan QCR software and the help of three judges will be used to review the selected articles at first. The arrangement of articles will be made from the acronym PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyzes), finally, will use the GRADE to evaluate the levels of evidence and rank the strength of the recommendation of articles. It is expected to find several interventions for adolescents who make excessive use of digital media and the most used is cognitive behavioral therapy.
