Abstract

The discussion on the stellar origin of the Galactic lithium has been revisited since the detection of 7Be, which decays into Li, in nova V339 Del spectra. Recent observations of several novae indicate that nova eruptions are relevant processes of Li production and could eventually explain the Galactic Li abundance. However, the determination of 7Be mass produced in a nova eruption is highly dependent on the Ca abundance and the total shell mass values. Thus, for a precise determination of the contribution of novae to the Galactic beryllium and lithium abundances, we need more accurate methods to study nova shells. Nowadays, 3D photoionization models allied to high-resolution imaging and multi-wavelength spectroscopy are the best methods to improve nova shell analysis. (AU)
