Abstract

Educational games win increasingly prominent for being aligned with new styles of learning and meet the needs of new generations. This approach, in addition to possessing a high level of responsiveness on the part of students, brings playful features to specific content, thereby facilitating learning. Considering the difficulties of beginners in the area of programming and seeking to take advantage of the educational benefits of the games, the present research project aims to improve the projetoÉden, a digital educational game for the teaching and learning of variables and types of data. It is intended to include new stages in the game, approaching value assignments that interfere in other variables and multiple declarations, as well as working on the concepts of algorithms and programming logic. Finally, it is proposed to apply validation methods in some first-year undergraduate programming disciplines.
