Abstract In this science project, we intend to investigate the control of ionization of the classically driven hydrogen atom. This model shows chaotic dynamics associated to the anharmonicity of the potential well and the coupling with the external field. We will investigate the system dynamics under the action of harmonic fields and the dependence of ionization with their amplitude and frequency. We will also consider the ionization as a control problem, where the external field will be determined by solving the Euler-Lagrange equations. Finally, we will compare the dynamics of the system driven by harmonic fields with the one driven by optimized fields. (AU) | |
