Abstract

The objective of this work will be to evaluate the performance, fluctuation of consumption, selectivity and ruminal health of confined Nelore cattle. The study will be conducted in the experimental confinement of FMVZ, UNESP-Botucatu. It will be used 96 male uncastrated male, Anelorados and the average age of 22 months. The experimental design will be entirely randomized in a 2 x 4 factorial scheme with the initial body weight factors (LEVE (340 kg) and HEAVY (400 kg)) and LEVEL OF INCLUSION OF PROTECTED FAT (2,3,4 and 5%), totaling eight treatments. The animals will be allocated, in covered confinement, 4 animals per bay, which will be considered the experimental units. The slaughter will take place 110 days after entering the confinement. The data will be analyzed by the PROC MIXED of the SAS if need to perform means comparison will be used the test of Tukey-Kramer and Duncan being considered significant effects values of Pd0.05 and the trends will be considered in P> 0.05 to P d 0.10.
