Abstract

In the position of Visiting Fellow (one-year position) at the Department of Anthropology at Johns Hopkins University, I aim to write two original articles. In the first, I seek to discuss gender and intergenerational relations between residents of areas characterized, control and constrained by constant armed conflict. In the second, I will analyze the physical violence(s) suffered by women living in low-income neighborhoods controlled by armed groups and the ways in which these women care for their bodies - physically and psychologically - following direct experiences of violence. This period as a Visiting Fellow will also provide an internationalization of the research in three ways. The first will be through the organization and supervision of two Reading Groups, with undergraduate and graduate students, which will directly connect to and reflect on the themes of the previously proposed articles. The second will be by participating in university seminars and presenting research in said seminars. The final method to facilitate the internationalization of this research, in addition to myself as the research, will be in the organization of two workshops in Johns Hopkins University. (AU)
