Abstract

This project addresses the study of level-set based methods for structural topology optimization. More specifically, radial-based functions are employed to parameterize the level sets. Aiming to save the computational effort of the potentially large amount of linear systems to be solved, the applicability of the reanalysis philosophy will be investigated. The proposed algorithm will be implemented and its performance will be put into perspective against computational routines recently developed for academic and educational purposes, with distinct strategies for updating the level sets.
