Abstract

This research aims to problematize the relations between historiographical changes that occurred in the architecture history field in Brazil, mainly since the 1980s, and the process of collections's acquisition by Library of the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism of University of São Paulo's Book Sector. For this purpose, this research takes as reference informations from the database of this library, establishing a dialogue with the intellectual production of leading professors from FAU-USP itself and from another institutions linked to the study of history and theory of architecture and urbanism. Those professors selected for this investigation are: Paulo Bruna, Otília Arantes, Margareth da Silva Pereira, Sophia da Silva Telles, Hugo Segawa, Carlos Alberto Ferreira Martins, Jose Lira, Carlos Eduardo Dias Comas, Paola Berenstein Jacques and Silvana Barbosa Rubino. This selection intended a diversity in terms of education and professional trajectory that could enrich the understanding and complexity that the bibliography of FAU-USP library represents for the construction of diversified theoretical basis. It is also proposed to conduct a series of interviews with these professors and other distinguished researchers in order to articulate meanings that, in their productions, could link the library collection and historiographic changes obeserved.
