Abstract

A large Social Housing (SH) stock exists in Brazil. Projects replicate a similar design model that should be brought to meet current environmental, social, and economic sustainability standards. Elevating SH developments to these standards, construction, and design issues need identification and classifications to take action to solve problems through upgrading (introducing improvements, refurbishments, reforms, retrofits). This study creates a SH upgrading model concerning sustainability issues for single-family and multi-family housing types of up to five floors to bring about effective actions and prioritize these according to the feasibility of execution.
