Abstract

Manufacturing companies have incorporated the provision of services into their product offering as a strategy to increase the value proposition to their customer. This strategy is called servitization. Due to the benefits of integrated product and service offerings, manufacturing companies are also developing innovations in services. Many studies analyze the practice of service innovation in manufacturing companies in several countries and in several industry sectors; however, few studies have investigated this practice in Brazilian companies, especially the manufacturing companies from agricultural equipment industry. Based on the knowledge and adequate results of a previous research project on service innovation in medical-hospital equipment companies, this project aims to analyze the impact of two antecedents (digitalization and ecosystem) on service innovation. Digitalization is understood as the use of digital technologies in the creation and provision of service offerings by the investigated companies, while the ecosystem emphasizes the creation and capture of value among interrelated companies. As a research method, the survey type will be adopted. The collected data will be analyzed by means of statistical methods to verify if there is correlation between the factors analyzed and the practice of innovation in services. Finally, two articles will be published in a congress to disseminate the results obtained.
